Instructional Coach, Child & Family Studies Lab

Do you love teaching? Would you like to help mold future generations of teachers? Come be an Instructional Coach in the BYU Child & Family Studies Laboratory (CFSL), where we mentor BYU education majors and provide an engaging, meaningful, and play-based curriculum for preschool and kindergarten children! • Continuously observe and provide ongoing personalized feedback, as well as a comprehensive final evaluation and professionalism rating scale for each pre-service teacher.
  • Serve as the master teacher for one AM and one PM preschool class (40 children total each year).
  • Develop and teach age-appropriate integrated curriculum based on the Utah State core curriculum and ensure that each child is provided with a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Work with CFSL families to identify cognitive, social, and emotional goals for their children, provide ongoing informal feedback and formal parent-teacher conferences throughout the school year.
  • Model for pre-service teachers how to share information with parents.
  • Contribute to the CFSL team by participating in professional development, attend weekly staff meetings, and evaluate school goals each year.
  • Teach an ECE or SFL university course, as needed and pending university approval.
  • Assist faculty in the implementation of research projects within the lab school.
