Job Description - Instructional Coordinator (assigned to College, Career and Technical Education)

The District is seeking candidates for Instructional Coordinator (assigned to College, Career and Technical Education)to support assigned schools/area and other programs.
The Instructional Coordinator will support the CCTE Education, Innovation, and Research (EIR) Program responsible for supporting the implementation of the EIR-Peer Tutoring grant, including providing leadership to school site teams, CCTE teachers and site guidance counselors to implement innovative student supports, pathway, and post-secondary planning. This position willact as the primary liaison for identifying and supporting student participation in the leadership and certification peer tutoring program, lead implementation of standards aligned interdisciplinary projects to support student achievement, student supports, and work-based learning experiences 6-12.

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Instructional Coordinator, under the general direction of the assigned department or division head, will coordinate and provide leadership and direction to site administrators and school teams in one or more areas of curriculum and/ or compliance; evaluate and supervise the work of assigned certificated and classified staff.
POSITION SPECIFICS:
* Working Location is based out of the College, Career and Technical Education Department - 2441 Cardinal Lane, Building E, San Diego, CA 92123
* This position is anticipated to be filled for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
* Scheduled for 12 months / 248days per year
* Position anticipated to be filled for the start of the 2024-2025 school year, pending Board of Education approval.
* Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents
The Instructional Coordinator will be paid on the AASD Certificated Supervisors I Salary Schedule, Plan 0708. Salary Grade: 027

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

E = Essential Functions
* Coordinate and provide leadership and direction to site administrators and school teams in one or more areas of curriculum and/ or compliance. E
* Provide support to site administrators in order to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as District policy and procedure; assist with audits. E
* Assist in the coordination and evaluation of coaching cycles and professional development offered by the assigned department or division; recommend teaching techniques and the use of different and/ or new technologies. E
* Lead assigned curriculum development projects and lead the implementation of new and/ or revised curriculum based on state standards. E
* Plan, organize and conduct teacher and site administrator professional development. E
* Assist in the formulation and development of policies, procedures, and programs for the assigned department or division. E
* Assist in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to assigned activities and personnel; participate on district committees. E
* Assist site administrators and school teams evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and/ or teaching techniques; conduct observations and research, gather and evaluate data to provide support and feedback. E
* Communicate with other administrators, personnel, and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts, and exchange information; develop procedures to encourage effective and efficient management controls within assigned area. E
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
In addition to the job duties listed above, the incumbent will be expected to:
* Provide leadership in order to implement innovative methods for student support for increasing student achievement, pathway completion, work-based learning, and future goal setting
* Support implementation of district approved curriculum to support academic achievement for students in the CCTE program
* Coordinate student opportunities and pathway experiences related to student career interests, showcase student work and reflections on work based learning
* Assist in coordination of summer internship and opportunities for students
* Support parent and family engagement opportunities to communicate certification, pathway opportunities, post-secondary options and work based learning opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications
MININUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to: Master's degree and seven (7) years of TK- 12 teaching experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Driver's License.
Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
