Job Description - Instrument and Electrical Technician II
Pay Rate: $60/hr. Job Title: Instrument and Electrical Technician II Location: Hwy 80, Midland, TX Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5/2 | 55 Hours per Week (40 hours straight time + 15–20 hours overtime; occasional weekend and holiday work may be required)Position Overview We are actively searching for Instrument and Electrical Technicians II to support operations at a major oil and gas processing facility near Midland, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced I&E professionals to contribute to a high-performing operations team. The role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and electrical systems critical to production reliability and safety. Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with safety regulations and work practices
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems in a processing or production environment
Ensure compliance with performance standards, product quality, and equipment reliability
Support and promote safe work practices under the Permit to Work System (PTWS)
Monitor and inspect new installations; recommend or implement upgrades as needed
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to coordinate work effectively
Review and contribute to control specifications and work practices
Support development of team technical skills and attend/lead technical meetings
Provide technical support to fellow technicians and act as a backup for I&E Lead when required
Generate and follow through on Management of Change (MOC) requests for I&E systems
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and documentation in all assigned tasks
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in a technical field (preferred), with additional certifications from a technical school
Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance in oil & gas processing plants or offshore production facilities
Strong working knowledge of OIMS (Operations Integrity Management System), industry regulations, and safety protocols
Familiarity with P&IDs, control loops, calibration, motor controls, and permit systems
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex I&E issues and implement effective solutions
