Apache Workforce Solutions is currently hiring experienced Instrument Fitters for an industrial manufacturing facility in Houston, TX 77029.
Pay: Up to $28.00/hour, depending on experience
Night Shift: 10% shift differential
Location: Houston, TX 77029
Schedule: Up to 10/12-hour shifts
The Instrument Fitter is responsible for fitting, assembling, and installing instrumentation components and tubing on industrial skids. This position requires experience working with stainless steel tubing, reading drawings, and accurately routing and bending tubing to meet engineering specifications.
Run and install pneumatic tubing.
Complete tubing layouts on industrial skids.
Route tubing to end devices and instrumentation.
Bend 1/4" to 1/2" tubing, including stainless steel tubing.
Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks as needed.
Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and general adjustment drawings.
Follow system flow and ensure tubing is installed according to engineering specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area following basic 5S practices.
Follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
Properly use required PPE and maintain safe work practices.
Participate in safety training and report safety concerns to supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned by TAS.
4+ years of experience as an Instrument Fitter, preferably with experience bending stainless steel tubing.
Experience running and routing pneumatic/instrument tubing.
Ability to bend 1/4"–1/2" tubing accurately.
Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and general adjustment drawings.
Basic understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems.
Knowledge of instrumentation end devices.
Familiarity with different types of tubing and structural shapes/sizes.
Understanding of system flow.
Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish.
Previous industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.
Manufacturing/shop environment.
Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to work up to 6 days per week as needed.
Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and moving materials.
Ability to frequently move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work may be performed in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Normal vision and ability to distinguish colors required.
Safety glasses required.
Earplugs recommended.
Steel-toe boots required.
