SUMMARY STATEMENT & PURPOSE: This position cleans and sterilizes equipment and maintains facility requirements by performing the following duties. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Cleans and inspects instruments for cleanliness and damage following every case.

2. Retrieves and delivers instruments from and to the operating room when possible. 

3. Cleans instruments according to manufactures recommendation. 

4. Sterilizes instruments according to manufactures recommendation.

5. Run Biologicals and Bowie Dick tests in the autoclaves each morning.

6. Wraps and autoclave extra instruments as specified by SESC policies.

7. Records cycle runs and changes autoclave timing charts daily.

8. Sterilizes instruments between cases.

9. Prepares instruments for the next day.

10. Cleans and stocks instrument rooms as needed.

11. Utilizes appropriate PPE when cleaning instruments.

Performs end of the day cleaning to Dirty Instrument room and Autoclave room. 

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) from the State of Washington within 60 days of employment.
• Must be at least 18 and have a High School or General Education diploma (GED).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous related training or experience 
• Sterile Processing Certification
