Taylor Nelson Slattery Bernard PL is seeking an insurance defense attorney to join its nationally recognized boutique transportation and logistics practice. This opening is available in the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia location. We are a small firm with a national footprint, handling complex and challenging matters that make a real business impact across the country. We are looking for an attorney who enjoys problem solving, desires a high degree of client interaction, and embraces the creative challenge of tackling legal issues presented by the fast-paced and dynamic transportation industry.

No prior experience in transportation law is required. We are not your “typical” small firm – we have a unique practice that offers attorneys the opportunity to practice in complex areas of the law, including all forms of litigation, federal transportation regulations, catastrophic injuries in trucking accidents, employment claims, and insurance defense. We handle big law matters with a small firm approach. We offer a high degree of substantive client interaction, specialized training and mentoring, independence, and responsibility. Taylor Nelson Slattery Bernard PL coaches and guides attorneys who want to become leaders in the transportation industry. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Manage litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice and trial preparation


• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings and motions


• Develop litigation strategies and work closely with senior attorneys and partners


• Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring timely and effective handling of all matters.


• Collaborate with insurers, adjusters, and internal legal teams to ensure client objectives are met efficiently and effectively.


• Responsive in a fast-paced law firm environment and business client demands


• Reliable to complete tasks and self-manage case load


• Desire to understand what the transportation industry is about and the clients’ businesses and needs


• Strong work ethic


• Commitment to meeting expected metrics / goals


• Eager for intellectual challenges and not afraid of complexity


• Organized and able to handle complex cases

• Technologically savvy and able to work in a paperless environment

Position Specifications

Education
JD from ABA accredited law school and admission to State of Georgia Bar.

Experience

3-5 years’ experience in insurance defense. Georgia experience and prior work in complex commercial law is a plus.

Pay
$120,000 to $135,000 commensurate with experience.
