Insurance Defense/Litigation Paralegal

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Location: This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Troy, Michigan, where you'll work closely with experienced attorneys and legal professionals in a collaborative office setting.

Note: Candidates must have at least 1+ year of litigation support experience in a law firm. Experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records is strongly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.

Job Description

• Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from case opening through resolution.
• Draft, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and coordinate court filings while ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and court procedures.
• Maintain attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, case files, and document management systems.
• Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, meetings, and client communications.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, medical providers, and vendors.
• Assist with obtaining, organizing, reviewing, and summarizing medical records when needed.
• Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, and other case materials for hearings and trial preparation.
• Help ensure matters progress efficiently by tracking deadlines and providing proactive litigation support.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of litigation support experience in a law firm.
• Experience as a Litigation Paralegal or Litigation Legal Assistant.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience preparing legal documents and managing litigation deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal office software.
• Experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records is preferred.
• Insurance defense experience is a plus but not required.
