Summary/Objective: The Insurance Division Manager will oversee insurance agency employees and ensure all agents act in the best interest of the insurance agency and their respective clients. This position will oversee the insurance organization's daily operations, set goals for the agency, delegate tasks, and implement strategies to enhance team efficiency and productivity. This position will also serve as the company’s lead Insurance Agent, responsible for selling insurance products to our customers, protecting the needs of policyholders, and overseeing a portfolio of clients.
Essential functions:
Insurance Division Manager:
Maintain a good relationship with Insurance agencies, bank leadership, and outside sources in the insurance field
Manage overall operations in an insurance setting.
Develop and implement policies that enable the insurance agency to operate as a cohesive unit.
Review company performance and existing outlets to identify areas where individual employees and entire departments can improve their efficiency.
Connect specifically with insurance agents to ensure that employees communicate personally with policyholders and represent the company in the best possible light.
Identify and minimize threats as part of ongoing risk management responsibilities.
Manage collected data and create user-friendly reports that can help executives identify company progress, regression, and any fluctuations in output.
Continually review insurance policies to confirm that policyholder needs are best addressed.
Manage any claims investigations within the agent's scope.
Control company finances to ensure accurate budget allocation to all departments.
Oversee employees’ work to ensure compliance with all applicable state laws and regulations.
Train agents as needed and conduct insurance information meetings for staff.
Handle licensing and training of all personnel.
Maintain insurance policy records as per Wyoming State Statute.
Manage marketing and donations for Insurance agencies.
Actively participate in customer, community, and public relations activities to increase the bank’s visibility and enhance new business opportunities.

Lead Insurance Agent:
Prospects according to the insurance department’s goals and requirements.
Write commercial/personal insurance and prepare rating information, research insurers’ policies and premium data, and furnish customer policy and premium quotations using manual and automated systems.
Maintain files of customers’ in-force policies and review files as necessary with customers. Will also review policy expiration notices and follow up on non-renewed policies.
Actively cross-sell additional policies on existing accounts, ask for referrals, and solicit new business.
Recommend risk management strategies that fit clients' risk profiles and/or losses covered in the policy or ensure customers understand any exclusions that affect the claim.
Describe the advantages and disadvantages of different policies to promote the sale of insurance plans.
Create and implement marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or insurance companies.

Competencies:
Knowledgeable of insurance laws and regulations, and the ability to read and understand training materials, financial institution communications, and insurance policies.
In-depth knowledge of the different types of insurance plans, including auto, home, life, and business.
Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
Knowledgeable of bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
Attend training on bank/job-related topics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Organization skills.

Education/Qualifications:
A High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of five years of experience in insurance and three to five years of experience in a leadership position/management
Appropriate certifications and a personal/casualty insurance license.
Supervisory:
This position will have direct supervisory responsibilities and may serve as a mentor for other positions in the organization.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment.
Will require frequent travel to all FNB branches (Buffalo, Gillette, Sheridan, Douglas, Newcastle)
