Insurance Generalist

We currently have a GREAT OPPORTUNITY for a BILLING GENERALIST to join our corporate office team in PELLA, IA! This position is a full-time hourly position with a comprehensive benefit package included! 

As part of our back-office team, you will have the opportunity to support our back-office team with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Obtaining authorizations for rehab services on behalf of our clients.


• Working with the Insurance Team to manage the insurance authorization process in a physical therapy and occupational therapy clinic.


• Maintaining authorizations for rehab services, which includes gathering necessary documents to support rehab authorization of care requests, submitting initial requests for authorization, following up on authorization requests, and communicating with therapy providers on status of authorization.


• Running and maintaining tracking reports within the EMR and Excel.


• Verifying insurance eligibility and checking insurance benefits for rehab services on behalf of our clients.


• Communicating insurance benefits with our Care Coordinators and clients.


• Working with Billing Team regarding claim denials related to eligibility and prior authorization.


• Assisting and supporting administrative and clinical team members as needed.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills:

•  1-2 years experience in an office environment


• 1-2 year working with medical insurance, claims or prior authorizations


• Experience with EMR software, Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Office


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Attention to detail


• Ability to summarize large quantities of complex information and present it to clients and collaborating teams


• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service


• Ability to multitask and prioritize a fast-paced workflow and efficiently accomplish daily intake goals


• Adaptability with ever-changing insurance processes and efficiency improvements with software
