Insurance & Patient Care Coordinator - Continuous Learning Opportunities

The Patient & Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of front-desk, administrative services at Southern Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. This role is to provide administrative support to facilitate patient care and payment of the services rendered at Southern Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. 

Qualifications & Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Must have pertinent on-the-job experience in a related position (dental/medical experience preferred).
· COVID –19 Vaccination or eligibility/willingness for vaccination upon employment
· Must wear professional attire/black scrubs
· Must be present at work between 7:30-7:40 am for morning meetings. Workday lasts until the last patient has left the clinic (patient are scheduled from 8 am - 5 pm).

Essential Functions:
· Greeting and checking-in patients
· Verifying patients' insurance and benefits
· Reviewing treatment plans and payment options with patients
· Submitting claims to insurance
· Collecting copayments and patient fees
· Scheduling appointments and confirming appointments via effective communication with patients/families
· Maintaining a schedule that provides effective delivery of dental services and treatment in a timely fashion
· Maintain effective note keeping and communication regarding the coordination of patient care
· Additional duties as needed.
