Summary: 

An Insurance Payment Poster accurately records, reconciles, and posts payments from insurance companies and patients into a dental billing system. They interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms, apply adjustments, resolve discrepancies, and manage both electronic (ERA) and manual transactions, directly impacting the revenue cycle. 

Key Responsibilities:
- Payment Posting: Accurately apply insurance payments, adjustments, and denials (EOB/ERA) to patient accounts.
- Reconciliation: Balance daily deposits, electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and checks to ensure accuracy.
- Denial Management: Identify, document, and route claim denials or underpayments for follow-up.
-Data Entry: Enter patient payments and insurance reimbursements into the practice management system.
- Audit/Reporting: Review accounts for accuracy, verify electronic claim transmission, and report discrepancies to management.

Required Skills and Qualifications
-High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
-Previous experience in medical billing, clerical work, or a similar data entry role.

-Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and familiarity with Dental Practice Management Software.
-Understanding of dental terminology, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and insurance protocols.
-Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle confidential information.
