Neuroscience Group has a Full-Time position available for a team-oriented Insurance Reimbursement Specialist. This position will typically work Monday -Friday 8 hours per day. Some overtime may be required. This position will primarily be located at our Appleton clinic, however there will be times when it is necessary to work at our Neenah clinic. As an integral member of the Business Office the Insurance Reimbursement Specialist works in a team environment to interpret and evaluate appeals to include denials management, insurance follow-up with payers and insurance providers to assure timely turn around for claims resolution and reimbursement. They are responsible for communicating and working with insurance companies and medical billing staff to manage billing and various reimbursements. This position requires an understanding of medical records, coding, and billing practices to ensure compliance and patient confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review payer reports to make sure all accounts are paid appropriately to reduce the total company accounts receivables.
Utilize web portals to investigate and critique insurance claims as necessary
Regular phone interaction with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
Complete appeals for unpaid insurance claims as necessary
Ability to problem solve and think critically
Assist with major insurance billing issues
Daily phone interactions with patients while exercising exceptional customer service skills
Regular interaction and investigation of patient accounts in our practice management and EHR software
Review and complete other practice management reports as necessary
Operate in a team-oriented work environment
Investigate claims issues and make recommendations for process improvement
Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training
Continuous education through written publications, meetings, and webinars is imperative
Understand insurance carrier guidelines and stay abreast of any changes that occur to communicate them to management and staff
Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS PREFERRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION:
1-2 years of recent medical office experience in a similar capacity is preferred
Previous customer service experience is preferred
Proficient in basic computer functions
Must have excellent analytical skills, especially on performing clerical tasks to evaluate insurance cases, investigate cases, and update the account information of the patients
Should have strong communication skills and understanding of the insurance processes to be able to coordinate with the patient's, explaining the procedures of their claims accurately, and coordinate with the insurance management to improve the claims processes
Ability to learn new software quickly
Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding, general medical terminology, accounts receivable, insurance collections, and medical billing is preferred
Must possess attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
Ability to respond positively to constructive criticism and direction from supervisors
Must display a friendly, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring when communicating with patients and coworkers
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily seated work but will require some position change including bending, stooping, and stretching.
May involve lifting supplies up to 20 to 30 pounds.
Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight in order to communicate and function within this setting.
