Position Summary:
Insurance Specialists at Hayden Lake Physical Therapy and Aquatics are responsible for verifying patient insurance and managing authorizations on a daily basis in a growing outpatient clinic. This role is a pre-billing step that ensures accurate patient care and an overall positive patient experience. They manage the flow of information between direct patient contact and the billing team. This position requires strong organization and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. This candidate has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They will be familiar with our basic front office procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits through various systems.
- Process authorization requests in a timely manner and manage current authorizations.
- Communicate insurance coverage information effectively to patients
- Follow through on information requests for billing and authorization.
- Collaborate effectively with other teams in the company to provide an excellent patient and provider experience.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year clerical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Experience in medical insurance verification and prior authorization is beneficial.
- Computer proficiency to access and utilize online resources and manage patient information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization skills with an attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, including urgent situations.
