The Insurance Verification Specialist CHP reviews and verifies patient demographic information, guarantor, and insurance information. Assigned duties include, but not limited to: insurance verifications, authorization notifications, multi-line telephone coverage, data entry in practice management system, referrals/physician orders, collections, and financial verifications.

Education

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

Experience

• 1 year of experience with patient registration, insurance and benefit eligibility verification required
• Epic experience 
• Experience navigating payer portals (e.g., Availity, Noridian, and various PPO/HMO portals) to pull eligibility manually when Real-Time Eligibility (RTE) fails.
• Solid understanding of different insurance plans and IPAs
