Position Details Location: Macomb County (Covered locations include Warren, Clinton Township and Center Line)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or another full-time equivalent as determined by Director or Supervisor. Reports To: Clinical Director / Associate Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor Compensation: Salaried Employee. Commensurate with experience.
Position Summary The Utilization Review (UR) Clinical Coordinator is a full-time position that plays a critical role in the FACE to FACE Partial Hospital Program, with involvement in the Outpatient Program. This role focuses on utilization review and administrative coordination, including conducting reviews, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with insurance providers to support authorization and reimbursement processes. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the UR Coordinator ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes efficient care delivery, and supports client access to services in a structured and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Completes Utilization Review assignments including the clinical review of medical records to ensure compliance with medical necessity and case documentation requirements including appropriate level of care, treatment, diagnosis, length of stay, and discharge planning.
Coordinates and completes initial and re-authorization requests and/or case reviews to ensure authorization guidelines are met.
Perform telehealth and in-person health screenings and assessments to Macomb County CMH clients, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission of all required paperwork in compliance with the policies and procedures (P&P) manual.
Provide compassionate, person-centered care by addressing clients' needs with professionalism, empathy, and creativity, while delivering high-quality therapeutic services, including assessments, intakes, individual, family, and/or group therapy to Macomb County CMH clients, while following MCCMH guidelines and documenting in FOCUS, in accordance with professional standards and the agency's policies and procedures.
Keeps the administration and clinical team informed of all current and new requirements relating to the process of authorization and continued stay funding.
Provides case management services as needed.
Provides initial assessments, individual therapy, family therapy and/or group therapy to clients in the FACE to FACE and/or Outpatient Program (when necessary) in accordance with professional standards and policies/procedures of the facility.
Completes documentation as required by the clinic’s policies/procedures.
Attends daily FACE to FACE administrative/clinical meetings.
Promotes quality and efficiency in the delivery of care management services.
Carries the ability to resolve all crisis situations appropriately.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This role requires extended periods of remaining in a stationary position during HIPAA-compliant telehealth and in-person sessions and requires the ability to perform physical activities such as bending and reaching. The position involves prolonged active listening and verbal communication.
Proficiency in using computers, phones, and office equipment for documentation and telehealth purposes is necessary. This includes but is not limited to Office 365 and Electronic Medical Record systems.
The role may require moving within the office or traveling between locations to fulfill job responsibilities. Reasonable accommodation will be considered based on individual needs.
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology required.
Active current clinical licensure (LLC, LLMSW, TLLP, LLP; full licensure may also be considered) in the State of Michigan and continued satisfactory standings with the appropriate board and insurance entities required.
