Intake Coordinator 1- Psychiatry Full Time, Days

The Intake Coordinator I reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Intake Coordinator I supports the general psychiatry, specialty psychiatry, therapy services, neuropsychology testing, and other services offered in the department.

Responsibilities:

• Role functions very similarly to a call center line: answering live calls, clinical intakes on patients, answering questions, triaging patients.
• Ensures all relevant and necessary clinical documentation is received and available to the clinician prior to the scheduled appointment.
• Assists with insurance eligibility verification.
• Documents and tracks referrals.
• Places outgoing calls to patients interested in care to fill providers schedules.
• Ability to problem solve and manage patient frustration.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related area of study OR 4+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
• 0-2 years of experience in mental health administration or indirect patient care.

Preferred:

• Basic knowledge of community mental health resources and/or referral sources.
• Understanding of the health system and electronic medical records system.
• Detail oriented and flexible with change.

Schedule:

M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm
