The Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as an Intake Coordinator in the Civil Rights Division.
The Civil Rights Division works to prevent and remedy discrimination on the basis of protected characteristics in order to ensure equal opportunity and safeguard constitutional rights for all. The Division is particularly committed to serving vulnerable and historically underserved individuals through community-informed, culturally and linguistically appropriate, and data-driven legal advocacy and affirmative legal action. We strive for equity, underscoring the importance of intersectionality and racial justice. Embedded in the Division are teams dedicated to protecting individuals and communities impacted by issues of children’s justice, disability rights, and police accountability.
Primary Duties: The Intake Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of duties to assist the Division in investigating and resolving civil rights violations, including some paralegal duties. Primary responsibilities include:
Position Requirements: Candidates must have either (A) a Bachelor’s degree, (B) an Associate degree with at least two years of equivalent experience, or (C) four years of equivalent experience. Equivalent experience includes consistent full-time or equivalent part-time technical or professional experience in public relations, hotline or call center work, or working with the public.

Position Type: Full-time/Non-Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote work days. On in-office days the Intake Coordinator will be required to report to our Boston office or one of our regional offices in Worcester, Springfield and New Bedford.
Salary: $59,513
