Who We Serve
North Bay Regional Center provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to empower our clients to thrive and live as independently as possible within the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse communities we serve.
North Bay Regional Center is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. At NBRC, we’re promoting opportunities by supporting choices for people with developmental disabilities.
North Bay Regional Center serves over 12,000 people living within the geographic boundaries of Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties.
DEFINITION:
Under the general supervision of the Intake Department Manager, the Intake Referral Coordinator is the first point of contact between the regional center and prospective clients over the age of 3 years seeking to access center services. The Intake Referral Coordinator gathers information and determines the appropriateness of the referral. The Intake Referral Coordinator provides information about services performed by the regional center as well as referrals to private and public service agencies as appropriate.
NATURE OF WORK:
The Intake Referral Coordinator performs complex and varied duties which include: receiving referrals to NBRC from parents, professionals and the general public through phone calls, online and faxed referrals and walk-ins for Lanterman services. You will gather initial information and obtain records related to eligibility category of concern. You will provide applicants with an overview of the Regional Center and categories of eligibility and identify expectations during the intake process.
The Intake Referral Coordinator provides resource support and referral information to applicants and their families who may not qualify for intake services; complete required reports, recoding and forms; and collaborate and consult with clinical staff, as needed. You will assist in gathering statistics related to intake and assessment processes; coordinate with your manager in assigning appropriate referrals to assessment staff who follow up and complete the eligibility process. In addition, you will provide assistance with other tasks as needed by the Intake Department and or agency. As your experience and expertise are developed, the successful candidate will function with a reasonable degree of independence.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of related experience during which time there is a demonstrated ability to assume increasingly responsible duties.

Ability to provide personal transportation and minimum legal automobile liability insurance required; the ability to provide personal automobile transportation during working hours and after-hours emergencies or access to another form of reliable transportation which meets these minimum legal requirements.
A note regarding NBRC’s expectations regarding remote, hybrid, and home-based work…
All employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers. Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients. While 100% remote work is not available to NBRC employees, a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of in-office and home-based work may be available for new employees after successfully demonstrating achievement of performance expectations following at least 3 months of in-office work.
