Position Summary:
This full-time position provides clients with access to services, enrolls in intake program, collects financial information to apply payor source for billed services and assists clients in applying for Medicaid or County Mental Health Board funding. This position calls for a wide range of skills including but not limited to; interpersonal communication (written & oral), crisis intervention, current knowledge of community resources, programming, and software programs related to insurance (private, state, and federal funding) including Microsoft applications, and EMR knowledge.
Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:
Assists clients in accessing services in person, online, or by phone.
Verifies insurance eligibility in accordance with Agency/Program policies and procedures.
Complete registration in accordance with Agency/Program policies and procedures in person, online, or by phone.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school degree or GED.
Previous healthcare/medical office experience is preferred. Must be proficient with computer operations and various software packages such as clinical databases, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Required CPI 90 days following hire.â¯
Must be proficient in using a computer and various software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher and electronic health records.â¯â¯
Must demonstrate comfort in interacting with individuals with mental illness. Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and at times hostile individuals.â¯
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships.â¯
Must have excellent customer service skills.â¯â¯
Must be able to organize and prioritize work assignments.â¯
Must be able to work under stress with frequent interruptions.â¯
Must be able to follow complex instructions and think logically in following instructions and procedures.â¯
Must be able to work independently and make independent decisions when situations warrant such action.â¯
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.â¯
Must be able to work evenings, weekends or alter work schedules to meet department needs.â¯
Must have reliable transportation as work is performed at multiple sites.
