Intake Specialist

Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a full-time Intake Specialist. This position is responsible for performing a variety of client account maintenance and assessment of financial resources.

The Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency.


• Multitasking, strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, system thinker and customer service skills.


• Ability to perform Public Health and Behavioral Health screenings.


• Thorough knowledge of program eligibility such as vaccines for children, indigent funds, etc.


• Work well in a team setting, and demonstrate assertive yet tactful communication skills in working with internal and external customers.


• Must have the willingness to put the customer first in everything you do.


• Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s license and pass a criminal history check and drug screening.

The Job Duties:

• Gathers information necessary to initiate records and services.


• Customer contact daily.


• Direct client to proper department for services needed.


• Initial assessment of client financial status, program eligibility and negotiating payment plans when needed.


• Insurance authorization and monitoring compliance.


• Verifying insurance benefits to make sure clients have not exhausted their benefits.


• Works closely with the Public Health Team, while acting as back-up for Behavioral Health Intake.
