Intake Specialist
Non-Exempt
Salary: $43,000 - 45,000
Scope of Position: This position provides intake, eligibility determination, orientation, enrollment services to support customer engagement, program participation, and successful workforce and training outcomes.
Salary: $43,000-45,000/year
Essential Functions
- Serve as an initial point of contact for walk-in, phone, online, and referred participants by providing information on available programs and services
- Manage incoming WIOA service calls and referrals, including returning voicemails within required timeframes and scheduling enrollments, orientations, workshops, assessments, and appointments
- Conduct online and in-person intake, assessment, orientation, and eligibility determination processes for WIOA programs
- Verify financial and eligibility documentation, complete enrollment packets, and ensure accurate data entry and updates in CWDS and other designated tracking systems
- Assess customer job readiness, training interests, barriers, and service needs using assessment tools, including CASAS, as appropriate
- Develop customer service plans that address identified barriers, establish resolution strategies, and outline targeted outcomes and achievement timelines
- Assist customers with accessing workshops, employment opportunities, training resources, and online job search tools
- Provide customers with information regarding program expectations, requirements, and available community resources and referrals
- Coordinate customer services and referrals with internal departments, partner organizations, and community agencies to support successful outcomes
- Ensure jobseekers understand the parameters of the particular programs offered
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development training, and ongoing learning opportunities to support continuous improvement and program effectiveness
- Support Career Resource Center operations by assisting customers with job search activities, resource navigation, computer usage, and access to workforce and training services

Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate degree or some college preferred
- Demonstrated telephone, computer, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining flexibility to meet contract and operational needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to work fully onsite, fully virtual, or in a hybrid environment
- Clean driving record, valid Driver’s License, and reliable vehicle required
