Integrated Program Teacher & Support
Wellspring Community is seeking a high-energy, creative, and passionate Integrated Program Teacher & Support to join our in-person day program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This role plays a key part in furthering Wellspring’s mission to empower adults with I/DD to live full, productive, and satisfying lives in a God-centered environment.
This hybrid role involves teaching 2–4 engaging, inclusive classes per trimester that promote life skills, enrichment, creativity, and community involvement, as well as supporting seven additional classes led by other Program Teachers. Candidates must be flexible, collaborative, and committed to fostering an environment of safety, dignity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Duties:
Plan and teach 2–4 weekly classes tailored to participant interests and strengths
Create inclusive lesson plans that encourage creativity and connection
Adapt instruction for varying needs using best practices
Complete daily documentation and participant tracking
Provide direction to volunteers and Program Supports in your classes
Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and participants
Attend all relevant staff meetings, trainings, and program planning sessions as needed
Model Wellspring values and positive behavior supports
Maintain a positive, fun, and safe learning environment
Adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced setting and take initiative in solving challenges
Program Support Duties:
Assist in 7 additional classes, offering individualized support to participants
Help with preparation, setup, and cleanup of classroom activities
Occasionally substitute teach
Morning Huddle:
3 days/week: Planning and prep
2 days/week: Participant support during activities
Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with I/DD
Background in education, human services, or recreational programming preferred
Valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to drive 15-passenger vehicles
Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 and open to learning documentation systems
Experience supporting individuals with cognitive, emotional, physical, or behavioral challenges
Current First Aid/CPR certification
Must pass background check, drug screen, Must obtain DOT and QMAP certifications
Position Status Full-time, based in Castle Rock. Schedule is: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM/Monday - Friday.
