Intensive Behavior Support Professional

• 40 hours per week Mon - Fri, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm)


• The pay range for this position is 21.50-23.11 depending on years of prior experience with NYS OPWDD programs. 


• Position is based out of the New Directions Day Hab in Garden City but will include daily travel to all Day Habs in Queens and Long island as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum two years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.


• Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations


• High School Diploma required


• Current SCIP Certification required


• Valid  driver’s license required

Responsibilities Include:

• Serves as a role model in the implementation of complex behavior support plans.


• Demonstrates competency in crisis prevention strategies, ABC data collection methods, and positive reinforcement principals.


• Offers new employee training and guidance specific to behavioral interventions as requested.


• Possesses an in-depth knowledge of treatment plans, and offers feedback to the Behavior Intervention Specialist regarding enhancement modifications.


• Assumes a proactive, team oriented role during a crisis situation when implementing behavioral intervention strategies.


• Assists the Management team in managing crisis situations that may involve the police, emergency services, psychiatric hospital admissions, etc.


• Ensures proper safety protocols are followed when physical interventions are implemented.
