Job Description - Interim History Position


JPII seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Interim History Teacher to join our faculty beginning July 22nd and continuing through August 31st with a potential extension . This position will teach assigned history courses and psychology and work collaboratively within the Social Studies Department to ensure continuity of instruction, strong classroom culture, and alignment with departmental and school expectations.

Requirements

  • Teach assigned history courses (specific courses to be determined based on need)
  • Implement existing curriculum, pacing guides, and assessments
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons
  • Create a structured, respectful classroom environment rooted in dignity and accountability
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Maintain accurate records in the school’s learning management and grading systems
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with department members and school leadership
  • Supervise students as assigned (hall duty, advisory, etc.)
