Interior Design Assistant

Description

The Interior Design Assistant will support Interior Designers in all aspects of project development, including creating presentations that align with the client’s aesthetic preferences, selecting finishes and materials within budgetary guidelines, preparing specification documentation, developing interior models in SketchUp, and managing overall project documentation.

Responsibilities:

· Promote and encourage the alignment with Blue Heron Core Values, Policies, Philosophies, Processes, and Methodologies

· Assist in all tasks related to the creation of aesthetically pleasing interior spaces, including overall color palette, material and finish specifications, and the coordination of architectural elements within interior spaces

· Assist in the creation and maintenance of all documentation related to the design process, such as interior concept presentations, interior finish schedules, specification documentation, and technical SketchUp modeling

· Responsible for managing the upload of essential construction and trade-related documents into the company's system, ensuring they are categorized correctly for easy access by various teams

· Work closely with construction and trade personnel to ensure that all documents are available as required

· Incorporate all the Blue Heron interior design standards and support best practices development and documentation 

· Assist in maintaining neat and organized work areas and materials storage in the design library  

· Take initiative and seek out mentors to further career development

· Attend as necessary:

Client Meetings (as needed by the Interior Designer)

Internal Review and Collaboration Meetings

Special Purpose, Vendor, and Company Meetings

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or related field

· Routine use of Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

· SketchUp- Intermediate to Advanced Knowledge

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize project workload, and time sensitive tasks
