The Cleary Company, an award-winning design-build remodeling firm in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Residential Interior Design – Cabinetry Specialist passionate about creating functional, beautiful living spaces. They should excel in cabinetry layout and interior home design from concept to execution. Collaborate with clients to transform their vision into practical and aesthetically pleasing designs, optimizing space, layouts, and budgets. The Cleary Company has been serving Columbus and Central Ohio for over 31 years, delivering exceptional value and craftsmanship through our dedicated team, trade contractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients to assess their needs and preferences for residential interior design projects.
  • Visit job sites to analyze space availability, design needs, and the purpose of space.
  • Create customized design solutions.
  • Produce detailed design presentations and 3D renderings to effectively communicate ideas.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely project execution.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring client satisfaction from start to finish.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in residential interior design and sustainable design practices.

Salary based on experience. This is a full-time in-person position (not a remote position). 

  • Schedule: In-Person, Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in residential cabinetry design.
  • Strong knowledge of spatial planning, color theory, and sustainable design principles.
  • Excellent communication,      project management, and client-facing skills.
  • Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work      on multiple projects concurrently
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to express ideas both visually and verbally and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups, including clients and colleagues.
  • Initiative to anticipate problems and find solutions/must be an organized self-starter.
  • Ability to work on all phases of design (Conceptual, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration).
  • Knowledgeable in Fixture and Finishes/Millwork drawings and detailing.
  • Ability to coordinate and follow through with Consultants and Vendors from all trades involved in the project.
  • Knowledge of local building/ADA codes and regulations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in design software such as: Chief Architect, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, 20/20, or Cabinet Vision.
  • Experience with luxury residential design or renovation projects.
  • Knowledgeable in Fixture and Finishes/Millwork drawings and detailing.
