Description

Summary:

The Operations Manager, Interior Maintenance is accountable for leading the Interior Maintenance Department of Botanical Designs Seattle. The Interior Manager focuses on customer satisfaction, optimizing work under customer budgets, and managing the department's labor hours to match gross margin targets.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Leadership, management, and Accountability of the Interior Maintenance Department, to include, hiring, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and termination of employees within the department.
Accountable for the labor portion of gross margin for Interior Maintenance
Accountable for overall exterior quality for accounts with recurring interior contracts.
Monitor replacement costs and keep branch replacements costs in line with the budget.
Hold weekly technician meetings to pass cascading messages, conduct training, communicate safety concerns, and elevate issues from technicians.
Participate in the weekly Seattle Leadership L-10 meeting and come prepared with issues to discuss, your scorecard filled out, and updates on the status of your rocks.
The ability to flex to cover other project and operations manager roles when there are peer absences after cross training. Oversight of account quality and customer satisfaction. Will be accountable for the upkeep and quality of work done on client sites. Record, track, and resolve the inbound questions comments and/or concerns and escalate appropriately.
Maintain and account for Botanical Designs assets, including but not limited tools, supplies, and vehicles.
Responsible for department and job site safety, training, and on-the-job injury reporting
Manage employee performance including documenting, tracking, discipline, completing reviews, employee training and development etc. in collaboration with Botanical Designs HR.
Direct and support the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
Keep Director of Operations informed of issues and events within the Interior Department.
Operate a company vehicle as a driver
Always maintain a clean vehicle, ensuring, maintenance and Interior cleanliness
Remove personal items from vehicles daily (lunchboxes, cell phones, garbage, etc.)
Adhere to Company maintenance inspection policy
Report all accidents (regardless of nature and severity) immediately
Ensure security of building and vehicles by coordinating with other staff as necessary
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Familiar with modern productivity software, including Microsoft Office, iPhones/iOS, and how to navigate modern web-based technology platforms.
Ability to regularly drive in Downtown Seattle core, parallel park and navigate daily traffic.
Strong follow through, quick decision-making abilities and able to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Professional mannerisms, appearance, and actions (self-confident and committed to high ethics).
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills:
Able to multi-task, maintain focus on several different projects at one time and hit deadlines.
Able to be flexible with attention and priority.
Able to work in a progressive, fast-paced environment (work well under pressure).
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels. As unique situations arise, position must be sensitive to company needs as well as customer needs.
Comfortable with a significant amount of personal accountability and responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:
2-3 years of previous experience in horticulture industry-wholesale or retail nursery, landscape, or grower
Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid WA State Driver's license

Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, talking, listening, squatting, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, grasping, pushing, pulling etc.
Specific vision abilities necessary include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus etc.
May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (rain, sun etc.) for extended periods of time and/or field Environments performing outdoor work with moderate to occasional loud noise.
Must be able to lift to 75 pounds.
