Job Description - Intermediate Care Registered Nurse (RN)




Intermediate Care Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position 




Location: Albuquerque, NM 




Job Type: Travel Contract   




Duration: 13 weeks  




Shift: 4x12s Nights 




Pay: $2755/week  




 




Job Description:  




We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Care RN to join our team. The RN will deliver specialized nursing care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions, serving as a bridge between critical care and general medical-surgical units. 




 





Key Responsibilities:  






  • Provide direct patient care for patients with complex and unstable conditions who do not require ICU-level care. 








  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage specialized equipment (telemetry, infusion pumps, etc.). 








  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately. 








  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans. 








  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge needs, and follow-up care. 








  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and standards. 








  • Promote patient safety and serve as an advocate in decision-making processes. 






 




Qualifications:  






  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing 








  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NM 








  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 








  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification 








  • COVID vaccine, TB test 








  • At least 1–2 years of acute care or step-down/intermediate care experience
