Job Description - Internal Medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician


Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency in Alpharetta is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding Internal Medicine team!

Available Sign-On Bonus Structure up to $1500 for LVTs!

Compensation: $25 - $28 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

Schedule Requirements: Full-time, Tuesday - Friday, day shifts

About You:

You are a compassionate and detail-oriented veterinary professional who enjoys working through complex cases and providing high-quality patient care. You thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively with both clients and teammates, and contribute to a positive, supportive hospital culture. You have experience in high-level specialty medicine settings, or have a strong technical background and are eager to transition into specialty medicine and continue advancing your clinical skillset.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist Internist with advanced diagnostic procedures and patient care
  • Provide nursing care for complex and chronic Internal Medicine cases
  • Obtain patient histories, take vital signs, and collect samples
  • Assist with imaging and diagnostics (ultrasound, lab work, etc.)
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Perform proper patient restraint and handling
  • Support patient flow and ensure a high standard of care

Requirements:

  • Active veterinary technician license required for LVTs
  • Minimum 2+ years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in Internal Medicine. Experience with diagnostics and complex case management required
  • Strong technical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, and medication administration, patient care, restraint, and basic procedures, with an interest in Internal Medicine and advanced case management
  • Ability to work around anesthetic gases, chemicals, and zoonotic diseases. Comfortable working with animals, including those who are sick or stressed. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
  • Flexibility to support occasional schedule adjustments
