Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Internal Medicine Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. This nurse will assist in evaluating and managing adult patients with complex or chronic medical conditions in an ambulatory care setting. Duties include patient assessments, coordination of care, patient education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure effective treatment planning and continuity.
General Duties:
- Practice within the scope of clinical privileges or direction from the MTF leadership.
- Comply with contract requirements, DHA standards, and clinic policies.
Specific Duties:
- Conduct patient intake—measure vitals, review medical histories, and collect pertinent details for physician evaluation.
- Monitor chronic conditions and update providers regarding trends, changes, or treatment efficacy.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and injections as appropriate.
- Educate patients on disease management, medications, and healthy lifestyle changes.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostics, follow-up appointments, and ensure seamless care transitions.
- Document clinical care accurately and comprehensively using the EMR.
- Communicate with internal and external specialists when necessary.
Qualifications:
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Education: Graduate from an NLNAC or CCNE-accredited program.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required (via AHA or Red Cross).
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in clinical settings.
- Ideally, experience in internal medicine or adult outpatient care.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state.
Skills and Abilities:
- Sound understanding of internal medicine and chronic disease management.
- Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and education.
- Proficiency with EMRs and clinic documentation workflows.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable coordinating across departments and facilitating care continuity.

Schedule:

- Must pass background screening and receive clearance for base access
