Partner Veterinary is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our Internal Medicine team in Richmond, VA!

In addition, Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department to help you achieve your goals. This department is led by two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) Heather Carter and Christine Weaver and  Kelly Cronin . Our Training Department has an impressive track record of helping team members complete in-person or online veterinary technician programs and passing the VTNE. 

To set you up for success from day 1, 

• We gift you a *wellness week of PTO after 90 days in your position. This includes 30-40 hours of extra time off dependent upon your weekly schedule. Partner Veterinary recognizes the demand that is on veterinary team members, and this wellness week allows you to rest and relax with a week off after your initial 90 days.

At Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (PVESC), IMED Veterinary Assistant’s emphasis is on patient & client care, appointments, ultrasounds, and participate in anesthetic procedures. 

At PVESC, Veterinary Assistants learn and refine specialized skills to care for a chronically ill patient population while building relationships with our pet families and referring community.

Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes:

• Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration
• Unique support roles that enable our team to practice at your highest level
  Ample fluid pumps, syringe pumps, and monitoring equipment to enable quality patient care
• Scribes document exams and facilitate discharging appointments 
• Onsite advanced diagnostics, such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy and more

Requirements

• Minimum 1-year veterinary assistant experience
• Internal Medicine or specialty experience is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge and dedication to high standard patient care practices
• A curious and motivated energy 
• Interest in collaborating with the teams across the Partner network 

Physical Requirements (ability to):

• Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
• Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
• Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
