Multilingual Task Force Member Position Overview


2025-2026 School Year



Teachers leaders are teachers who are teaching full-time and fulfilling roles based on school or Ingenium-wide need. Teacher leader roles are one-year stipend positions, unless otherwise noted. The following teacher leadership roles are for the 2025-26 school year.  Not all roles will be guaranteed at each site. Roles will be determined based on applicants and school needs. Stipends will be split into monthly payments based on the number of months the work is performed (most likely, 11 months).

Multilingual Learner Task Force Member



A multilingual learner task force member…



  • is a voice that articulates and makes clear the importance and imperative of welcoming and affirming ELs, modeling and leading assets-oriented school culture.

  • promotes Ingenium-wide instruction that fosters high levels of English proficiency

  • looks across classrooms and collects data on the experience of English Learners inform continual improvement efforts based on the principles of the CA ELD Roadmap

  • implements prioritized ELD practices in their classrooms by teaching and innovating using the core curricular resources

  • co-plans and facilitates professional development as needed

  • provides insight for improving systems that are responsive to the needs of English Learners

  • meets with newcomers throughout the year to conduct SEL touch points

  • analyzes student achievement data and examines research compiled by experts in the field of second language acquisition

  • supports and creates alignment between their work and school-wide and Ingenium-wide improvement efforts/initiatives; including

  • attend regularly scheduled collaborative task force meetings and come prepared with necessary information, materials, etc.

  • supports teachers in implementing ELD resources and instructional practices



Eligibility Requirements



  • Willingness to support and facilitate  adult learners

  • Uses solutions-oriented communication techniques

  • Knows and demonstrates effective instruction practices

  • Is prepared to try new instructional practices, specifically those related to language acquisition

  • Has experience implementing the core curricular resources

  • Know how to create an affirming climate, mitigate implicit bias and advance positive counter-narratives 

  • Willing to challenge individual or shared beliefs that do not support a shared vision for student success, particularly for racially and linguistically diverse learners.




Stipend Pay: $1,500 per year on top of teaching salary paid on a monthly basis*



The teacher leader roles pay the total stipend amount listed above in the “Stipend” column. The stipend amount is subject to all taxes and regular withholdings as required by law. The stipend amount will be divided in equal parts and paid to the teacher each month for the duration of the role. For example, a person in an 11-month teacher leader position will receive 1/11th of the stipend amount each month, split between the two paychecks for the month, assuming the teacher leader remains in the role for the duration of the 11-month school year. 



If a teacher leader goes on leave or leaves work for any other reason, they will earn a pro-rata share of the stipend amount for the time worked. Also, if a teacher leader goes on leave or leaves work for any other reason, this position may be filled by another teacher either in the interim or for the duration of the role, depending on the current needs of the position, the school, and the timing of the leave. 



If a teacher leader accepts and moves into a different position with Ingenium in which the regular job responsibilities encompass the teacher leadership role responsibilities (e.g., administration, TOSA, etc.), then the teacher leader will receive the salary corresponding to the new role and will no longer receive the stipend amount, but will be paid a pro-rata share for the days already worked in the teacher leadership role.




If a teacher leader accepts and moves into a different position with Ingenium in which the regular job responsibilities encompass the teacher leadership role responsibilities (e.g., administration, TOSA, etc.), then the teacher leader will receive the salary corresponding to the new role and will no longer receive the stipend amount, but will be paid a pro-rata share for the days already worked in the teacher leadership role.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS



Participation in the teacher leader roles requires active and full participation. Specifically, teacher leaders must attend all specified meetings, assigned professional development sessions, and designated work sessions. In-person sessions must be attended in-person; remote accommodations and make-up work will not be available due to the burden this places on the facilitator, the value of in person participation, and the inequity this creates for other participants required to meet in-person. Teacher leaders may be required to drive to other school sites after the regular school day. Teacher leaders must have the ability to drive by car to attend meetings, as needed, both after school and during non-work hours. Mileage is reimbursed at the rate required by law. Teacher leaders must also abide by general professional guidelines, such as attending meetings on time and completing work by required deadlines. Employees who do not meet participation expectations may be removed from their roles.
