POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Utility and Fleet Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, servicing, and management of our fleet vehicles and facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and functionality of all fleet operations while managing budgets and tracking expenses. Additionally, this position will manage and support our third-party utility locating subcontractor and work with the state Digline program, ensuring efficient utility locating operations. The individual in this position will make informed decisions that align with company values and promote business continuity and sustainability, foster a culture of respect and integrity within the team and subcontractor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, utility locating, and contractor relations.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fleet & Tool Management Oversight:



  • Oversee the entire Fleet Management program in accordance with program documentation and regulatory requirements.

  • Onboard new Fleet Management software, facilitate training and support users in the system.

  • Launch and maintain formal vehicle, equipment and tool inspection program.

  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance and routine servicing of fleet vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.

  • Manage vehicle registration, insurance, and tracking for all fleet vehicles.

  • Coordinate repairs with vendors based on employee inspections utilizing the fleet software.

  • Oversee the tool tracking program, ensuring proper management and accountability of tools and equipment.

  • Maintain GPS tracking system data integrity and perform data entry for fleet and facility operations.

  • Conduct fuel report analysis and monitor expenses related to fleet operations. 

  • Routinely provide analysis of expenses associated with fleet daily operations to Leadership for improvement and decision-making purposes.

  • Support, assign, and track employee fuel pins and vehicle gas cards, including fuel report analysis.

  • Implement and maintain an ongoing drug testing program to ensure compliance with CDL medical certification requirements.

  • Provide immediate guidance to employees in property damage situations.



Utility Locating Management:



  • Manage and support the third-party utility locating subcontractor.

  • Ensure locates are completed correctly within mandated timeframes and appropriate documentation.

  • Collaborate with state Digline and utilize state software for utility locating processes.

  • Provide locating support outside normal working hours for priorities and emergencies.



QUALIFICATION & REQUIRED SKILLS EXPECTATIONS:



  • Education in a related field, degree-preferred. 

  • Proven experience in leadership, utility locating, fleet management, or a similar role.

  • Strong background in vehicle maintenance.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports for management.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite and fleet management software.

  • Ability to work independently with great initiative and little direction

  • Availability for after-hours support as needed.



SALARY: $53,000 - $58,000 / yr



SCHEDULE:



  • 35 hours per week during regular business hours of Monday – Friday.

  • Availability outside of regular working hours to help with emergency situations.

  • Location: Chubbuck (ID) or Rockland (ID) depending upon successful candidate.
