INTERNAL Special Projects Accountant

Farmers Electric Cooperative has an INTERNAL opening for the new position of Special Projects Accountant. A Special Projects Accountant is responsible for performing in depth accurate studies, reports, and projects and assisting in financial forecast and cooperative budget preparation. This position will handle a diverse range of non-traditional financial projects such as Rate & Cost Analysis, Researching Project Feasibility, and preparing Financing & Claims documents. The successful candidate must be organized with excellent ability to carry out a variety of activities which require a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.  Must be able to multi-task and have strong communication and problem-solving skills.

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting. Applicants will be required to demonstrate a high degree of working knowledge and skill with the operation of personal computers and software programs such as Microsoft: Excel, Word, and Outlook and IVUE.

This job is primarily a remote home-based position, with some in-office duties at our Greenville, Texas office as assigned. The assigned hours will be Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm with the possibility of alternate work schedule. Because you will be working with confidential data, all remote work must be done from a home office which offers adequate privacy.
