Broad Scope of the Position

 The Intervention Coordinator & Interventionist plays a critical role in supporting student achievement  with a focus on Tier II and III instruction. This position provides targeted intervention through individual or small group instruction, ensuring students receive the support they need to meet grade-level expectations.  The Interventionist collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to implement best practices, monitor student progress and refine intervention strategies based on data. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Implements/Follows/Utilizes a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Framework: Implements intervention strategies aligned with MTSS to provide differentiated support based on student needs. 
• Supports' Student Success: Builds confidence, perseverance, and a positive academic mindset in struggling learners.  
• Integrates Culturally Responsive Teaching: Ensures interventions are equitable, inclusive, and tailored to diverse student backgrounds. 
• Incorporates Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Recognizes the link between academic achievement and emotional well-being, embedding SEL strategies into interventions. 
• Works Closely with Special Education and ELL Teams: Collaborates with specialists to align interventions with individualized education plans (IEPs) and English language learning goals. 
• Delivers High-Quality Instruction: Provides individualized and small-group instruction using research-based interventions. 
• Uses Data to Drive Instruction: Analyzes student performance to adjust interventions and support academic growth. 
• Maintains Accurate Student Records: Tracks progress through data-based documentation and contributes to student intervention decisions. 
• Communicates Student Progress: Engages with teachers, administrators, and families to share student updates and collaborate on next steps. 
• Assists in Student Placement: Helps identify students for intervention groups based on data and instructional needs. 
• Administers Diagnostic Assessments: Conducts assessments to determine specific learning needs and inform intervention strategies. 
• Contributes to Program Development: Provides input on improving intervention strategies, assessment tools, and data management systems. 
• Participates in Professional Development: Engages in training to enhance intervention skills and instructional effectiveness. 
• Supports Teacher Growth: Provides staff development opportunities to strengthen classroom intervention practices. 
• Performs Other Duties as Assigned. 

Requirements

Required Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in academic intervention with measurable results.
• A Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field. 
• Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship;

Preferred Experience

• Experience leading a team and other leadership duties;
• Experience at a high-performing school, charter, or private school, is preferred.
• Bilingual or interest in bilingual education.

• Experience with or Willingness to Learn Intervention Programs: Familiarity with evidence-based intervention programs (e.g., 95%, others??) is preferred or must be willing to undergo training. Share a passion for children, for the teaching profession, and for the AXIS mission.
