Job Description - Inventory Control Coordinator

Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Maintain, update, and order parts and supplies that will ensure proper service facility efficiencies while providing administrative and clerical support to the Maintenance Department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check stock, place and expedite orders to ensure parts are in stock when needed. Assist in the creation of department action plans that support the company's strategic business plan.
  • Verify receipt of parts and supplies. Distribute parts and supplies to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor, process, and close aging purchase orders. Negotiate parts pricing with current and new vendors. Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Process payments, enter, code, and balance inventory data and other records. Monitor and relieve obsolete parts from inventory. Review inventory turns and adjusts stock levels.
  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliation and maintain variance at 1% or less. Set up secondary vendors to be utilized when parts are unavailable from primary vendors.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending and participating in appropriate training. Ensures company confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school education or equivalent plus 6 – 12 months related experience and/or training and 0 – 12 months previous management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Shop environment where continuously exposed to several elements such as, noise, intermittent standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting. Also may have exposure at times to the outside weather elements.
