The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and accountability of the inventory in the warehouse. This includes understanding the flow of inventory in, around, and out of the warehouse, managing inventory accuracy and verification initiatives, and investigating discrepancies. This position will work closely with the Warehouse Operations and Assembly teams to ensure proper inventory controls are in place and being followed. This position will also sustain SOX compliance initiatives pertaining to inventory control. Ideal candidates are organized, attentive to details, and self-starters with strong interpersonal skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to change priorities, shift focus, or adopt a new or different strategy seamlessly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed.
Review, transact, and document inventory adjustments related to discrepancies
Investigate inventory discrepancies, including receiving, lot number, quantity, and location discrepancies. Provide periodic reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager
Investigate customer order complaints, including wrong items, quantity discrepancies, shipping errors, etc.
Manage inventory control measures to support SOX Compliance initiatives
Assist the internal product request process
Maintain and monitor expiring inventory, report at-risk items to sales leaders, and process the necessary transactions in the system
Maintain and monitor status of all items in non-Central and Work bins (Hold/Returns, Hold/Expired, Hold/Hold, etc) and ensure system and physical inventory match
Comply with internal policies and procedures for inventory control
Assisting in conducting the cycle count process to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and company procedures
Inventory Organization
Move high moving inventory into locations to decrease the amount of travel time for pickers and create permanent bin locations for the product
Move slow moving/nonmoving inventory from any A level bin locations and replace with higher moving inventory
Identify nonmoving inventory that we can put on sale/clearance
Cleanup/Organizing the PM Mod and CFM Bins
Create an area in the warehouse with enough room and is clearly identified as being in PM MOD and not Central
Cleanup/Organize the CFM product that are used in kit building to help with order picking and cycle count
Organize Work Bins
Organize the product that is currently in Work and work with Assembly to identify which items are either not needed in Work or items that need to be moved to Work
Cleanup Back of H
These are bin locations that currently have mostly junk in them that I would like to use as storage for slower moving inventory
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes any tasks and/or projects assigned by supervisor
Other duties as assigned
AUTHORITY
May be empowered by the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor to train/direct/supervise other and/or Temporary warehouse associate(s) as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma preferred; minimum of GED equivalent is required.
Experience:
One (1) year experience working in a warehouse/distribution environment is preferred.
Previous forklift/materials handling experience is preferred.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and required drug test.
Specific Characteristics:

Demonstrated ability to respond effectively and courteously to all Internal Customers, Stockholders, External Customers (should they be contacted), business partner(s) (SCVRD), suppliers.
Ability to learn/utilize company business system software and bar code scanning equipment
Ability to learn and contribute improvement suggestions within all Quality System requirements, and related.
DEMANDS
Time and availability
Must be able to work at least 40 hours each week from 8 am-5 pm, or some variation thereof.
Travel
Must have transportation to and from headquarters.
