Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Controller & Receiving Specialist to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring that products and equipment are received accurately, properly documented, and available when needed for service, projects, and customer delivery. You will work closely with the Director of Purchasing, Director of Service, Account Managers, Technician Supervisor, Project Managers, and vendors to maintain smooth inventory flow and exceed customer expectations.
This is a service-focused position, requiring strong communication skills, a team-first mindset, and the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
Collaborate with procurement staff to track and confirm expected deliveries.
Label, organize, and allocate deliveries to the correct locations.
Handle returns and replacements for damaged or incorrect shipments.
Maintain accurate records and support ongoing inventory control.
Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of materials for projects.
Prepare and submit inventory and receiving reports as needed.
Maintain positive, professional relationships with vendors and internal staff.
Safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift experience a plus).
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and health regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a receiving clerk, inventory controller, or similar role.
Forklift operation experience preferred.
Strong computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Keen attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies.
Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
3–5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license required.

Solid understanding of inventory and warehouse processes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, business correspondence, and reports.
Basic math and analytical skills for inventory tracking.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Primarily office and warehouse setting.
Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and use of hands.
Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 70 lbs).
