The Role
An Inventory Coordinator at Silver Hills Bakery is responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished bakery products. This role ensures inventory accuracy, supports production continuity, and helps maintain food safety, traceability, and operational efficiency.
Detailed Description of Duties
Inventory Management & Tracking
Cycle Counting: Perform regular physical counts of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to ensure system accuracy.
Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and report any variances between physical stock and system records to the Warehouse Manager.
Receiving: Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy and quality.
Operational Support
Organization: Maintain a clean, logical, and safe warehouse layout to optimize picking and storage efficiency.
SOP & GMP Compliance: Follow all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure food safety and workplace efficiency.
Documentation: Ensure all paperwork, including transfers, receipts, and waste logs, is completed accurately and filed promptly.
Communication & Safety
Collaboration: Work closely with the Production and Procurement teams to signal low stock levels and prevent production downtime.
Safety Adherence: Strictly adhere to all safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and power equipment safety protocols.
Problem Solving: Promptly communicate any equipment or logistical issues to the Supervisor or Maintenance department.
Who You Are
Skills & Experience
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or logistics.
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite (Excel) and inventory management software/ERPs.
Analytical Mindset: Excellent mathematical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
Character & Abilities
Organization: You have a "place for everything" mentality and enjoy creating order out of chaos.
Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long periods and lift up to 23kg (50 lbs) as needed.
Adaptability: You can multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines.
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with various departments.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Flexibility to work various shifts to support bakery operations.
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset.
