Inventory Logistics Specialist

Position Summary:

As an Inventory Logistics Specialist in Crane, IN supporting the Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S) Inventory Management Support Services, you will provide all required support for the conduct of Inventory Management to ensure accuracy in Navy Enterprise Planning (N-ERP) environment. You will perform physical inventory counts and labeling of material and assets, execute Physical Inventory/ Location Audit Plan (LAP), and label material.

You will provide subject matter technical expertise in support of organizing, storing and retrieving information using a wide range of techniques and database systems for information management and internal and external interaction with other entities/customers. You will provide inventory management functions including but not limited to processing on and off station requirements, extracting and reviewing data for management reports to update and change inventory records including consolidating records.

Clearance Required:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts
  • Identify and follow quality assurance processes and procedures
  • Perform product counts
  • Stage materials within designated areas, as needed
  • Operate all necessary warehouse equipment and tools
  • Utilize a warehouse management system to maintain appropriate work documents
  • Resolve routine inventory issues

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • Jr. Logistics Specialist: 0 - 1 years of experience
  • Mid-Level Logistics Specialist: 2 - 4 years of experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Desired Training / Certification:
    • Material Handling
    • Equipment (Forklift - Up to 20,000 lbs)

Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
