**Reports To:** Store Manager
Groundworks Industries is home to a family of retail brands that seek to provide knowledgeable, and artful experiences set new standards for the purchase and experience of cannabis. To be successful in this role, you'll want to bring a wealth of customer and inventory management the experience to the table and either a passion for or genuine curiosity about cannabis. You would join a team of 4-8 Sales Associates and Shift Leads and report to the Store Manager.
**Inventory Manager Role Overview**
The *Inventory* *Manager* is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective organization and inventory management best practices, and for maintaining a thorough understanding and knowledge base concerning retail best practices within the Cannabis Industry with a heavy emphasis on State Law and OLCC or CA Regulatory rules and guidelines as they pertain to inventory management. The *Inventory* *Manager* reports directly to their corresponding *Store Manager* and partners frequently with the Compliance and Purchasing teams.
Informed by a 'Balanced Scorecard' approach equally emphasizing *People, Process/Technology, Customer* and *Finance* the *Inventory* *Manager* supports their store in maintaining organized, compliant inventory and participating in store leadership.
This is accomplished by way of a respectful, constructive, and energetic style guided by Groundworks' core values and long-range objectives.
**Essential Functions**

**People**
* Anticipates and communicates inventory needs with management and staff in a timely and efficient manner
* Supports all store staff in understanding inventory compliance and shop processes
* Supports the delivery of product education and vendor materials to store staff
* Ensures store staff is consistently and fully trained in compliant inventory practices, in partnership with the Store Management team
* Serves as customer-facing, Manager on Duty, as needed
* Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in team member's morale and performance and communicating them to the Store Manager
* Acts as a supervisor, coach, teacher, and mentor to all team members
* Provides feedback and coaching to improve performance of team members
* Holds team members accountable to all procedures and policies
* Actively works to create cultural buy-in amongst their team, and champion organizational goals and initiatives
**Process/Technology**
* Remains responsible for all new product intakes and processing into databases, with full accuracy as dictated by company compliance and accounting departments
* Stays up to date on OLCC regulations and trends in the cannabis industry
* Maintains full compliance with OLCC with respect to evaluation, handling, storage, selling, and tracking of products
* Implements and maintains effective inventory organization and best practices
* Monitors inventory levels through the stores' METRC account and conducts daily audits to prevent loss and ensure strict compliance
* Manages the store's product waste log, reporting waste to both Compliance, Purchasing, and Store Management Team
* Conducts adjustments and conversions in inventory databases
* Manages the tracking and storage of returns, and facilitates returns with vendors
* Maintains and organizes all manifests, Purchase Orders, and invoices both electronically and physically scans invoices to the Accounts Payable team daily
* Ensures received invoices accurately match the product received, if incorrect, appropriately documents inaccuracies per company policy
* Confirms accurate counts, quality, and quantities of product upon receiving it from a vendor
* Facilitates weekly inventory audits, immediately communicating and adjusting discrepancies
* Maintains an Expiration Log of aging or expiring inventory, facilitates a monthly Aging Inventory Report and review process, and communicates sell-through/promotional status of products to Store Manager and Purchasing Team
* Coordinates changes in pricing structures and modifications with Store Manager and Purchasing Team in a way that aligns with company standards and expectations
* Maintains online and physical menus (e.g., in-store price tags', Weedmaps, Dutchie, and Leafly)
* Partners with the Purchasing team to evaluate damaged inventory and product
* Maintains a customer ready sales floor, within the posted hours of operation, at all times
* Leads the electronic and physical movement of products within the store, ensuring both customer-focused merchandising and compliance at all times
* Supports Store Manager in implementing company programs by working directly with the store's team to execute action plans that meet operational and organization objectives
* Always keeps store clean and organized
* Controls inventory in a way that aligns with the Compliance team's standards and expectations
* Performs other related duties as requested by the company
* Serves as an in-store partner to Compliance Team, appropriately elevating concerns, acting as a compliance liaison in implementing new processes, and ensuring
**Customer**
* Effectively manages inventory and shop organization, supporting retail associates in delivering excellent customer service with the right products in the right place at the right time
* Works on the sales floor, in a customer-facing capacity sparingly, to support breaks and lunches
* Engages in conversation with customers to understand customer needs and the needs of the community in which the store is located
* Models a customer comes first attitude, delivers exceptional customer service, and supervises team members to ensure that they are delivering exceptional customer service
* Curates individual customer experiences with a focus on building sales and meeting sales goals
* Cultivates a team environment that consistently delivers exceptional customer service and distinctive customer experiences
**Finance**
* Regularly monitors sales transactions and discount usage while acting as a Manager on Duty
* Audits and supports the structure and execution of discounts in conjunction with the Store Manager, ensuring alignment with Compliance and Finance expectations
* In absence of the Store Manager, properly maintains cash logs, till counts, and safe counts. Communicates discrepancies in cash to Store Manager and District Manager as needed
* Reconciles inventory counts and audits within a regular schedule that aligns with the Compliance team's expectations
* Works side by side with the Store Manager and store's team to maintain and achieve store financial goals and expectations
* Serve as liaison to Retail Operations team when needed
* Coordinates and effectively communicates with retail Purchasing Team in a timely and efficient manner
