The Inventory Specialist (IS) counts, restocks, and delivers medical supplies and equipment. In supporting the Greater Sacramento Surgery Center (GSSC), the IS will also unpack supplies, rotate inventory, and looks for outdates 

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide support to Billing Department with POs
• SIS Issues
• Shipping and Receiving equipment and instruments.
• Get quote requests for instruments, new supplies, and equipment.
• Create purchase orders for replacement instruments/equipment, special orders.
• Meet with new/existing reps as needed.
• Data Maintenance in SIS:
• Price adjustments
• Update reference numbers
• Classification – inventory vs non-inventory
• Item status/type
• Accounting/Tabs
• Provide ATF PO for Bill only
• Create and handle RMA’s.
• Provide support with large deliveries and to floor (Purchaser/Inventory Specialist)
• Adjustment of:
• PO Tracker
• KP Implant Request
• Equipment Status
• Inventory Order Sheets
• Expired stock
• Weekly item inventory adjustment
• Assist AP with packing slip and invoice issues.
• Check surgery schedule for implant/instrument requests.
• Updating patients visits tab of graft and implant status.
• File maintenance of purchasing inbox (organization and classification of vendors)
• Provide support for primary purchaser:
• Place orders according to vendor schedule.
• Check for backorders, kill items.
• Perform daily inventory to sock locations.
• Order implants (as needed)
• Order grafts (as needed)
• Perform batch adjustments.
• Clear batch headers in post transaction of SIS.
• Provide support for Inventory Specialist:
• Receive shipments.
• Verify and confirm receiving items, sign, and initial packing slips.
• Organize and put away supplies in storeroom.
• Inspect for outdates and short dates.
• Stock all inventory locations daily.
• Scan and update packing slip spreadsheet.
• Fills STAT and routine orders for equipment and supplies.
• Inventories and restocks supply carts using electronic equipment.
• Rotates stock by date.
• Maintains storeroom inventory of supplies and equipment.
• May need to rent and return rental equipment, as needed.
• Notifies supervisor of inventory and equipment discrepancies.
• Receives stock.
• Checks for accuracy on all packing slips and bills of lading.
• Checks for damage.
• May use pallet jack, carts, and hand trucks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle large cartons.

Other Functions:

· Knowledge of how to decontaminate, sterilize and reprocess supplies, equipment, various trays, and linen is a plus (not required.)

 Education, Licensure and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent is required.· At least one year’s experience in hospital operating room supply chain, or surgical center. 

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic math and alpha filing system is preferred.· Familiarity with medical terminology.· Receiving and distribution of hospital or ASC supplies.· Accuracy, attention to detail, timeliness, organization, and prioritization, working with numbers.· Ability to accurately count and restock supplies using an electronic device.· Ability to accurately use the materials/inventory and computerized systems.
