Inventory Specialist - Level 1

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our restoration team as an Inventory Specialist - Level 1. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for carefully identifying, documenting, and packing personal property affected by damage. A key focus is ensuring that all items—especially fragile, sentimental, or high-value belongings—are packed securely and thoughtfully for transport and storage. Your work supports the restoration process and plays an essential role in client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess personal property items at job sites to determine appropriate handling and packing methods.


• Safely and carefully pack items, using appropriate materials and techniques to protect fragile or sensitive belongings.


• Transport packed property between client sites and the processing facility, ensuring items are handled with care.


• Organize and categorize property to facilitate streamlined unpacking and accurate tracking.


• Capture clear, detailed photographs of each item as part of the documentation process.


• Maintain accurate records of all inventoried items, including item descriptions, condition, and restoration requirements.


• Collaborate with team members to ensure all property is correctly labeled and securely stored.


• Use company devices and software (e.g., iPad) to enter inventory data and manage item tracking.


• Assist in prioritizing and organizing items based on urgency and client-specific needs.


• Review all documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission.


• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• High attention to detail, especially when handling fragile or sentimental items.


• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with care and precision under pressure.


• Effective communication skills when interacting with team members and clients.


• Ability to interpret item details and determine the appropriate packing method and materials.


• Proficient in using mobile devices (e.g., iPad) for photography and inventory tracking.


• Professionalism, discretion, and empathy when handling personal belongings.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


• Must pass a background check.


• Experience in restoration, packing, moving, warehouse, or inventory-related roles preferred.


• Familiarity with handling and packaging fragile goods is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.


• Comfortable working in environments affected by water, smoke, or fire damage, and in varying temperatures typical of restoration settings.
