Inventory Specialist / Shipping & Receiving Associate

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Inventory Specialist / Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team. This role combines responsibilities in inventory management, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with shipping and receiving, be comfortable using inventory systems, and be certified or qualified to operate a forklift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control
     
    • Accurately track, count, and record inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), spreadsheets, or other software.
       
    • Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in full inventory audits.
       
    • Ensure all incoming and outgoing inventory is properly labeled, stored, and documented.
       
  • Shipping & Receiving
     
    • Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
       
    • Prepare outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
       
    • Coordinate with carriers for LTL, FTL, and parcel shipments; ensure dock appointments and schedules are followed.
       
  • Forklift Operation & Warehouse Support
     
    • Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
       
    • Stage products for production or shipping in accordance with warehouse layouts and safety standards.
       
    • Assist in general warehouse upkeep, organization, and compliance with food safety (FDA/SQF) standards.

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college or technical training preferred).  
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or shipping/receiving role.  
  • Forklift certification (or ability to become certified upon hire).  
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems, spreadsheets, and basic computer/email use.  
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.  
  • Experience in food manufacturing or other regulated environment is a plus.
