Job Description - Inventory Technician

  • This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, Iowa.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Receive, inspect, unload, store, and distribute materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and stockroom documentation.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receipt processing, stock withdrawals, cycle counting, record keeping, and inventory control procedures.

  • Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and coordinate appropriate resolution and documentation.

  • Manage stock rotation and coordinate the handling, return, transfer, and disposal of surplus, obsolete, or damaged materials.

  • Coordinate freight activities and support the safe movement of materials and equipment throughout the facility.

  • Process and organize stockroom materials, including packing, labeling, pricing, shelving, and preparing items for use across the plant.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment through routine housekeeping and adherence to safety standards.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following established policies and procedures, identifying potential hazards, and supporting a culture of safe work practices.



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, recordkeeping, or a related warehouse environment with a strong commitment to safe work practices.

  • Working knowledge of inventory management, bookkeeping practices, stockroom operations, and data entry systems, with strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment; valid driver's license required and ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management, and communication skills, with proficiency using common office equipment and inventory-related technology.

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds while working safely and following established policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, recognizing it as a core company value, by promoting safe work practices, maintaining an organized work environment, and contributing to a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.
