Investment Banking Analyst 1/2 M&A

Our client, a leading investment bank focused exclusively on technology, is seeking to add an Analyst (Level 1/2) to their growing San Francisco office. The firm MAY consider an analyst 0 for an immediate start. No 2026 grads at this time. 

Primary Responsibilities

As an Analyst on the M&A team, you will rapidly assume significant responsibilities related to both pitching and executing advisory transactions for a diverse group of private and public clients across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the execution of M&A and advisory transactions
• Preparing and delivering client presentations
• Analyzing business plans and valuing companies using various methodologies
• Drafting offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations, and prospectuses
• Participating in due diligence and drafting sessions
• Preparing internal deal memos

This role provides direct and active interaction with senior client executives (CEOs, CFOs, etc.). Analysts are expected to attend and participate in client meetings and contribute to building and maintaining client relationships.

You will work on multiple projects simultaneously with teams of professionals across all levels of the firm, including Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, and Associates, collaborating to develop and execute solutions that meet client needs.

Required Background

• 1+ years of investment banking experience, ideally in an M&A product team or coverage team with significant M&A execution exposure
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Passion for software and tech-enabled services
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to work both autonomously and as a collaborative team player
