Description

GXM Consulting is seeking a seasoned Investments Advisor to provide strategic insight, financial analysis, and investment oversight in support of a high-impact federal capital initiative focused on critical and emerging technologies. This senior-level role is responsible for shaping investment strategy, mentoring junior team members, guiding due diligence activities, and supporting cross-agency coordination to ensure mission alignment and impactful capital deployment.  This position is On-site/Hybrid with Ad-Hoc Telework Possible. 


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or oversee comprehensive due diligence on investment funds and portfolio companies, including financial analysis, market assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Provide strategic investment recommendations that support government capital strategy objectives.
  • Serve as a senior liaison across agencies and stakeholder organizations, supporting collaboration, alignment, and execution of investment initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of investment workflows, compliance frameworks, and performance reporting mechanisms.
  • Develop and present high-quality investment memorandums, strategic briefings, and other decision-support materials to senior leaders.
  • Participate in and shape policy, procedural, and operational decisions affecting fund licensing, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support the creation of data workflows and management tools for tracking investment performance and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster an environment of accountability, excellence, and professional growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. At least 10 years of combined experience in venture capital, private equity or credit, direct investing, or technology-focused development and deployment.
  • Deep understanding of capital strategies, venture investment structures, budgetary methods, and regulatory and policy frameworks.
  • Experience with critical technology sectors and the market dynamics that influence them.
  • Demonstrated leadership in roles requiring high-level investment judgment, stakeholder communication, and interagency collaboration.
  • Proficiency in advanced financial modeling, valuation methods, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships across government and industry.
  • Proven success in leading investment efforts with measurable outcomes.

  • Strong personal accountability, sense of ownership, and team leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization in complex, high-visibility forums.
  • Critical thinking skills and a drive to improve systems and processes through innovation.

Security Requirement

  • This position requires an active Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
  • Individuals hired into this role will be expected to sign a specific Non-Disclosure Agreement for the project given the nature of the work.
