IoT Platform Engineer - Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled IoT Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Routing & Switching for IoT environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, developing, and testing network frameworks to connect IoT endpoints to campus and branch networks. This role demands advanced knowledge of WAN technologies, hands-on experience with Cisco SD-Access, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and leadership teams to deliver robust IoT connectivity and security solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in IoT platform engineering.

• 7+ years of experience in Network Routing (WAN Technologies).

• CCIE Certification (required).

• Primary Skill: Routing & Switching for IoT environments.

• Expertise in Cisco or equivalent vendor technologies related to SD-Access (SDA), 802.1x / Network Admission Control (NAC), and TrustSec.

• MUST HAVE US CITIZENSHIP OR GREEN CARD
  

• MUST BE LOCAL TO THE NEW YORK CITY AREA

Proficient with Cisco IOS-XE products, Micro/Macro segmentation configurations, and Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) automation.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development: Create lab frameworks to connect IoT endpoints to campus/branch networks, ensuring hardware, software, and endpoint functionality are tested and certified.

Scenario Testing: Identify communication scenarios between end devices and edge devices; develop, execute, and/or oversee testing of data gathering, aggregation, and analytics functions.

Technology Integration: Configure and validate Cisco SDA, NAC, TrustSec, segmentation, and automation via Cisco DNA Center or equivalent platforms.

Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, cross-functional teams, and senior management to align technical solutions with business needs.

Quality Assurance: Ensure IoT network solutions meet enterprise-grade performance, scalability, and security standards.

Documentation & Communication: Produce high-quality technical documentation, test plans, and status reports for stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

Experience with IoT device security and endpoint identity management.

Familiarity with cloud-based IoT management platforms.

Background in network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
