Your Role: IPDAV Therapist

As an IPDAV Therapist, you will provide individual and group counseling to perpetrators of domestic violence while ensuring victim safety and accountability. You will collaborate with courts and probation, facilitate abuser intervention programs, and refine the curriculum to foster non-violent communication and healthy relationships. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling, case management, and education to perpetrators of domestic violence.
• Co-facilitate abuser groups and refine intervention curriculum.
• Conduct victim safety checks per agency procedures.
• Maintain accurate reports, including court and probation documentation.
• Engage in community outreach and build strong referral relationships.
• Support staff and intern supervision.
• Represent A Safe Place at community meetings.
• Foster a violence-free society through ethical, trauma-informed practices.
• Engage clients authentically while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
• Complete required certifications, including IM+CANS and 40-hour Domestic Violence Training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

• Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Bachelor’s with significant experience considered.
• Licensure LCPC/ LCSW preferred but not required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in counseling, case management, or group facilitation, with a strong background in crisis intervention. 
• Familiarity with domestic violence dynamics and perpetrator intervention strategies.
• Dedicated to fostering a violence-free, inclusive, and collaborative society.
• Understanding of the unique challenges faced by diverse survivor populations.
• Strong trauma-informed communication, conflict resolution, and advocacy skills.
• Culturally competent, with allyship for LGBTQIA and BIPOC DV survivors.
• Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance required.  

Requirements

What You’ll Experience:

Schedule: 

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12:00 PM - 08:00 PM

Tuesday/ Friday: Flexible, based on the need.

• Professional office settings and secure shelters.
• 70% direct service commitment (60% for supervisors).
• Active participation in 70% of staff meetings.
• Commitment to 2–4-hour shifts for holiday shelter coverage, as needed.
• Travel may be required for client supply pickups, outreach, and training.
• Occasionally lifting to 20 pounds, navigating stairs, or moving across facilities. Reasonable accommodation will be provided as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly Rate: $60,000 - $65,000 annually, paid bi-weekly (26 pay periods annually).

Compensation Factors: Based on grant funding, skills, experience, and expertise.
