ROLE SUMMARY
The role within IP Global Services reports to the IPGS Director and is responsible for the management of the Patents, Trademarks, and Domains docket administration function in the Intellectual Property Department. The position serves as a people manager and operational leader, responsible for setting priorities, managing performance, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of IP data, and driving improvement across centralized docketing operations and IP systems. The role will be responsible for contributing processes and decisions of moderate complexity and risk while serving as a key operational partner to IP attorneys and leadership.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership & Accountability
Responsible for managing the day-to-day docketing activities across Patents, Trademarks, and Domains mailboxes, with the ability to handle large volumes of data. Including reviewing incoming correspondence from US and foreign Patent and Trademark Offices, outside counsel and foreign associates and docketing key attorney deadlines from that correspondence, data entry of key patent and trademark dates, codes and actions.
Works directly with Patent and Trademark attorneys and specialists to manage deadlines, assisting with preparation, scheduling, and review of docket-related reports.
Independently assess data integrity issues by taking corrective action to mitigate exposure.
People Management
Directly manages and develops four to five docketing professionals with full accountability for performance management, goal setting, coaching and development planning.
Supports team capacity building by assisting in organizing and prioritizing workload.
Provides training and assigns docketing work to the teams while also working alongside them.
Decision‑Making & Stakeholder Support
Provide report support for both Patent & Trademark to colleagues and IP Leadership
Serve as key contact for attorney queries regarding docket, including transfers and due date management.
Assist the IPGS Director on the data integration for acquisitions/divestitures/licenses /collaborations including data integrity checks for both Patents & Trademarks
Systems Ownership & Continuous Improvement
Responsible for reviewing & analyzing data including critical dates as part of IP system generated checks for system integrity
Provide experienced input, guidance, and backup to the Continuous Improvement team with respect to IPManager, EFR and other connected downstream systems. Work with CI team on specific projects on backend solutions.
Assist with IP systems upgrades including project testing and rollout, including user training.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 5-7 years relevant intellectual property formalities experience gained in a law firm or in-company with a focus supporting pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical companies.
Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage competing priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Highly Proficient in Patent & Trademark docketing across all jurisdictions
Strong Knowledge of Patent & Trademark international filing systems and IP Laws and practices worldwide
Demonstrate ability to regularly adapt and refine standard methods and techniques by applying breadth of knowledge and prior work experience to address current, emerging, and future requirements.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily desk work involving the use of standard word processing and organizational computer applications.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel may be required, typically within the U.S.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $116,000.00 to $187,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
